Only ~53% of people trust online travel information. The public relies on third parties such as tour agencies to provide trusted information and experiences, but, these agencies are expensive. A lack of trust increases transaction costs between people, often resulting in spare capacity going to waste. What if we restore trust online using transparent technology? What opportunities could we create if our actions were determined by an intrinsic motivation to forge trusting relationships? How much could we save if we were able to trust strangers?
