IBM Trusteer offers a broad range of security solutions and advanced endpoint protections designed to protect users from financial malware and phishing attacks in web, cloud, and local systems. When testing our solutions, along with the regular daily challenges that face any software testing team (i.e. OS, changing browsers, integrating with other security solutions and performance) – the malware provide us with some of the greatest challenges; the financial cybercrime landscape is constantly changing and evolving, cyber-attacks can take a variety of forms from compromising personal information to capturing control of computers. For our products to be effective against these ever-changing attacks, we must deploy a tailor-made security solution world-wide in an average research/developing/testing cycle of about 3-4 hours, and we must be able to ensure that we are able to integrate well with the most obscure and closed environments out there, all in a completely sandboxed testing environment. To accomplish that, we’ve designed a comprehensive testing system and we’ve been able to efficiently scale our QA environment to support dedicated tests and regression scripts, written by a team less than half its initial size. In a period of 12 months we’ve managed to successfully migrate from a large team that essentially manually performed all testing tasks, to a fully-automated system, able to operate in the challenging security environment.
