In Philippines, when an airline announces ticket sales which always occur in the middle of the night and when thousands of internet users visits the airline website simultaneously at the start of sale period, at least one-fourth of this concurrent users can successfully access the website and make transactions. Most Users blame their internet provider, and some throws their frustrations on the product that it can’t even handle the number of concurrent users at given time. In this generation where fast internet is accessible via public access or cheap subscription, web site/application owner tends to disregard the performance of their websites/application believing that fast internet connection compensates its loading time and performance; or underestimating their own product which in some cases instead of creating their own website they avail of a Platform-as-a-Service or Software-as-a-Service like Facebook as it is proven to be fast, easy to utilize and available to Users. In most organization regardless of which software life cycle methodology, performance and load testing is the least priority since it cost a lot of money and time. Time as project manager are pressured to meet deadlines as it cost money to delay product releases. Management who skips or neglect this testing will cost more money because of potentially target users losing interest in availing the advertised product/services.
