In this talk I want to cover two ideas which share a similar theme.

Firstly, there’s no point in automating bad performance testing. Here I will cover some of the fundamentals you need to get right before you consider automating.

Secondly, automation is just a slice of the bigger theme of simplification. Here I will introduce some ways we can reduce the complexity, time, and cost of performance engineering without automating anything.
