Automation – what comes to mind when people start to talk about test automation? Despite the fact that Test Automation has been around for more than three decades, the majority of the development and testing community assumes test automation is about test scripts running automatically. However, if we talk about trying to automate as much of the development and delivery process as possible, why stop there? What about taking test automation a step further – pushing the process even more “to the left” – and automating the test design and test script generation process as well? Learn how an organization automated the test design and test script generation utilizing a model-based testing (MBT) approach in our session. A few years ago, we introduced automation during the test design and test generation process utilizing MBT which helped us to improve test design efficiency for both manual and automated testing. Moreover, it allowed us to significantly improve effectiveness not just of test design but of the overall product development process from requirements to implementation through testing and client acceptance. In this talk we will provide an overview of the Model-Based Testing and share our experience on how it contributed to the automation of the overall development process which led to improved quality and shorter time to market. We will provide our take on myths surrounding MBT and how we dealt with them; we will share our learnings and success stories. Our session is not just educational but also fun!
