It is a tremendous challenge to find a good answer to how much testing we need. Do we not do testing enough or are we doing too much testing? How do we justify the time and effort that goes into testing? The answer lies in understanding the “Total Cost of Quality” which is using metrics and data to understand how much is being spent in ‘quality activities’ and compare that to how much value it is presently or potentially generating across various aspects and areas.
