MOBILE APPLICATION AUTOMATED TESTING FOR THE FANS
Here at the NBA, we serve our fans through many different platforms, which allow you to watch live games, replays, and highlights of all NBA teams. You can choose between different subscription options, such as a single-team pass or a full league pass, which gives you access to all games throughout the NBA season. NBA League Pass is available on various devices, including smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and gaming consoles. Just like many other companies we have to provide testing support at the API and UI levels.
Topic outline:
Overview of our ecosystem (APIs, UI’s, etc.)
- CoreAPI
- Dotcom
Connected Devices
- Roku, Fire Stick, Apple TV, Hisense, Xbox, PlayStation
Mobile & tablets
- IOS and Android
Deeper dive into our mobile-specific testing structure

FUNCTIONAL TESTING IN CLOJURE
We often hear words like functional programming…do we know how to do that? Functional programming is a style of building the structure and elements of computer programs that treats computation as the evaluation of mathematical functions and avoids mutating an object’s state. Clojure is just one of the functional programming languages that combines the approachability and interactive development of a scripting language with an efficient and robust infrastructure for multithreaded programming. This presentation has the goal to show how to use Clojure to create an automated testing framework for REST API testing. Clojure is a language with almost no syntax. In this presentation, it will be presented the basic features of Clojure and its libraries and the overall structure of the testing framework for REST API. The goal is to show simplicity in REST API testing.

AZURE LOAD TESTING
Microsoft recently introduced the Load testing feature in Azure. We can develop scripts using JMeter and then upload them to Azure where we can execute the load test. This is less expensive and very close when you test Azure resources-related applications. Pay per use (based on VU hours). If we want to use more runs, we need to pay more.
