SHIFTING LEFT AND MOVING FAST WITH API TEST AUTOMATION.

QA is a skill set that is evolving each day. It is one of the skill which has no limits and so as the expectations set from the QA. My whole mindset was challenged when I started getting hands dirty with APItesting.

API testing is the most important test you can perform as a QA Engineer; it gives you the required confidence to ensure that the server is responding in a proper way and reduce the testing efforts while performing e2e.

QAs are shifting left and beyond to make sure they deliver the right product right on time and one of their weapon is API testing.

I will share my experience around how API testing has helped me put my two cents in early stages of the delivery cycle.

Postman at many places is just an API development tool used by the devs and that’s it however It is capable of doing wonders for the QAs.I will be sharing my experience of testing a completely unknown third-party API and later automating the contract tests using postman itself.

API testing is not limited to the middle layer but has a huge impact on the topmost layer of the pyramid.

If you smartly use the API testing in the top layer, it can actually do wonders for your business focus tests where you are mainly relying on the automated UI tests which can be flaky, bulky, or time-consuming many times.

I will be talking about my experience with the concept of hybrid testing where Automated API Tests are combined with UI test and how this has increased the efficiency of the project.

INTELLIGENT PROCESS AUTOMATION BY OPEN-SOURCE AUTOMATION FRAMEWORK

Intelligent Process Automation drives both Process-driven and Data-Driven Automation. It is based on the Tag UI and Python is an open-source, cross-platform, command-line RPA tool that allows you to automate your desktop web, mouse, and keyboard actions easily.

Open-Source Automation approach encompasses the below features:
1. Open Source - TagUI used for reducing Capex
2. Secure - Automation through native access management, digitally signed scripts, and obfuscation
3. Modular – Multi bot architecture to cater to various use cases
4. Performance- Ability to scale horizontally based on the volume of requests

In this session, the approach & benefits of the RPA across various customers shall be presented.

WHEN TO DO WHAT TYPE OF PERFORMANCE TESTING

Performance testing has changed. The increasing pace of digital delivery requires new approaches that provide high levels of confidence in quality faster. This places greater emphasis on performance test automation, testing early, and as timelines shrink – risk-based approaches.

Performance testing and engineering has had to evolve to keep pace with the cloud-first and devops-driven digital age. Running one huge performance test in the last week of your project is rarely going to cut it anymore. Early or Component performance testing is becoming more popular, but does that mean traditional peak testing is out the window? Is there still a need for stress, break, or soak testing? What about scalability? Is performance testing even needed anymore?

These are all good questions with the same answer – it depends. There are so many options, and it rarely pays to cover all the bases all the time. So, what should you do? How do you decide what types of testing to prioritize? When should each type of test be conducted? What are the prerequisites and dependencies? How do you maximise the value of your testing while working within various constraints?

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN QUALITY ASSURANCE – FOLLOWING THE CHANGE IN QA

While enterprises globally adopting DevOps and New Ways of Working, most of the CIOs still think testing is relatively expensive and slow. This talk will focus on how to transform QA organisation to QE by building Testing platforms which are fast, scalable and CI/CD ready.
