Senior DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Investec

18 years in infrastructure — the last 10 building and operating cloud platforms. Today I am a Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Investec, where I design and run the Kubernetes estate behind 20+ production services and own the CI/CD pipelines that ship them multiple times a day inside a regulated bank.

Before Investec I was Head of DevOps at 4-Sure Technology Solutions, where I owned the function end to end and sustained 99.99% platform availability. I started as a Linux systems engineer racking servers and tuning Apache, and that grounding is why I diagnose failures faster than engineers who only ever knew the cloud.

WHAT I DO

Cloud migration — moving workloads out of on-premises data centres into Azure and AWS, and re-platforming monolithic applications into containerised microservices.

CI/CD — Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, ArgoCD. Build, test, containerise, deploy, with automated rollback and no fear of Friday releases.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — Terraform, Bicep, Helm, Ansible. If it is clicked in a console, it is a bug.

Kubernetes in production — AKS, EKS, OpenShift, Tanzu. Cluster design, scaling, upgrades, multi-tenancy, and the 03:00 incidents.

Observability and reliability — Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, PagerDuty, SLOs, error budgets, DORA metrics, disaster recovery, blameless post-mortems.

AI-assisted automation — AI tooling to write and review infrastructure code, pipelines and runbooks, and to shorten incident-to-root-cause time.
