Panel Discussion Speaker
Ben Alabaster
Vice President Infrastructure & Product Development, ApplyBoard
I am an engineering and product executive with a Ph.D. in Computer Science and over 15 years of experience leading global teams through massive technological shifts. My focus is entirely on enterprise scale: taking complex, high-stakes AI architectures and turning them into secure, reliable production systems that protect and run multi-million dollar business lines.
At ApplyBoard, I lead our global Product and Infrastructure organization. Over my tenure, we have scaled from localized engineering groups into a unified, product-led enterprise. I look at AI transformation through a commercial lens—not as a collection of cool tools or standalone prototypes, but as a core operational strategy. By replacing legacy business processes with autonomous multi-agent frameworks and building our own contextual SDLC automation platforms, my teams don’t just ship faster code; we systematically remove operational friction and scale back structural overhead by millions of dollars.
Because we operate in high-volume, mission-critical environments, I am obsessed with production rigor and system reliability. My research and applied engineering background—including our team’s recent IEEE best paper on mitigating the AI ‘silent failure’ problem—focuses on embedding absolute predictability into generative AI pipelines. I partner with CEOs, founders, and executive boards to deliver the strict LLMOps governance, cost containment, and platform infrastructure required to safely scale and monetize AI across the enterprise.
Outside my core role, I am passionate about supporting the broader tech ecosystem through:
✨ Startup advisory in product-led growth, engineering scale, and AI adoption
🚀 VC technical guidance and due diligence for early-stage investments
🤝 Board-level mentorship for founders navigating growth and enterprise tech strategy
