Transforming a company’s existing set of processes, strategies, and tools when dealing with different performance issues will always be a challenge. This talk focuses on how to successfully standardise and implement different performance engineering strategies to your company. We will start by presenting the challenges that businesses experience then we will present different solutions on how to approach and deal with these challenges and needs.

To often we find out that our application’s performance has issues when we are about to release to production. In this talk, I plan to go through the process, techniques and tools WTW uses to continuously monitor the performance of our solution under varying user load with the goal of getting system performance feedback as early in the sprint as possible. I will also be touching on the stakeholders and key roles necessary for this effort.

As with any organization, reliability and exhaustiveness are the key challenges in testing. In the case of Maynilad where applications are tightly integrated, the conduct of testing is made more complex as one change has the possibility of impacting many other applications and processes. Thus, Maynilad has developed a practical methodology in testing starting with risk and integration assessment so as to determine the scope of testing and the effort needed to test, and then based on a defined criteria, it is determined whether the testing is to be executed manually or through automation. A deep-dive presentation into this methodology will be made, using actual case studies for changes made within and integrated into SAP ERP. Korina has been in the IT industry for 15 years, with extensive exposure in business process analysis, system development life cycle, IT operations and service management, and IT project management. She has been the IT Operations Head of Maynilad for three (3) years now, Korina will share her experience and expertise in her talk on Testing of Highly Integrated Application.

One of the biggest debates for relatively new Agile teams is wondering how Test Automation fits into their development process. Oftentimes, building and maintaining a test automation suite require a lot of overhead that it seems to make more sense to run test scenarios manually. Integrating Test Automation to a Continuous Development process allow for instant risk feedback per build and easier collaboration and maintenance through the use of a centralized repository. This talk aims to help step up your automation game by showing the benefits of integrating your test automation framework with a Continuous Integration server. John Started out as an application support engineer before transitioning to Software QA as one of the pioneers of the company’s Test Center of Excellence. Worked with several enterprise (HP QTP/QC, Worksoft Certify, TestComplete) automated testing solutions and open-source frameworks (Selenium, Robot Framework) to implement customized testing solutions and standards. Now working with budding Agile teams to incorporate Test Automation into their Continuous Integration development processes.

As many companies continue to embrace automation, it’s easy to fall into the trap of doing automation for the sake of automating. In this topic, the speaker will share the best practices being done in Willis Towers Watson to evaluate the effectiveness of our test automation frameworks, including QA automation processes applicable to Agile environment such as in-sprint automation, concepts like Test Automation Canvas, and continuous integration.
